[Tutorial] How to edit Array of Bytes (AOB)

This guide is not going to teach you how to make your own AOB edits, or find AOB's, this one is simply teaching you how to edit AOB's within Cheat Engine.

Changing AOB's is my preferred way of 'hacking/cheating' on flash games, it can be a fun task, but also very challenging. Anyhow, I won't spend long talking, as just like myself, I guess you're eager to get started!

Okay, so I assume you already have Cheat Engine installed, and hopefully know how to attach your game/browser process.. if not, don't worry there will be a guide for that in this section of the forums.

Once you've attached your process, you want to change your search type to Array of Bytes in cheat engine, this will automatically tick the 'hex' tickbox, leave this ticked. You will see things like Writable ticked, this is good, as we know it's possible to edit the aob in question.

Enter the aob you're trying to find, and press 'First Scan', Cheat Engine will now produce something like this, if your aob is decent it should only show 1 result, otherwise you're going to have to be more specific when choosing the aob you want to scan, you can do this by adding more lines of code to the Raw Data Extracter (assuming you know how to make aob's).

I am using an AOB made by Abhijeet, for battle pirates fleet repair glitch.. As you can see, the aob is decent and has produced 1 result, GREAT! Select the AOB, and press the red arrow, shown in the image below...

This will now put your aob in your address's list, where we modify it and change the aob value. So, next you want to double click the numbers under 'Value', this is the AOB you've just found.

Okay so we've now got to change the aob, a small window should open displaying the AOB you found, in a editable textbox. You want to select all, and remove the numbers in the box, replace them with the aob's you wish to replace the original with, then press OK.

Easy, right? Well... now you've changed your first AOB! Congratulations, it'd be a good idea for you to learn how to make your own AOB's now!
